3 DAY ATLANTA ITINERARY
Day 1: Explore Downtown
Morning
• Georgia Aquarium: Start your day at one of the world’s largest aquariums. It is home to thousands of different aquatic species and offers a variety of different exhibits. Don’t forget to check out the Ocean Voyager exhibit, where you can walk through a massive tank surrounded by sharks, stingrays, and other sea creatures.
• World of Coca-Cola: Right next to the Georgia Aquarium is the World of Coca-Cola. Here, you can dive into the history of Coca-Cola, taste over 100 different Coca-Cola products from around the world, and visit the vault where the secret formula is kept. Afternoon
• Lunch at Krog Street Market: If you didn’t grab breakfast, you’ll likely be hungry by now. Head to Krog Street Market to try out various market stalls and gourmet treats. Just down the road is the infamous Krog street tunnel. This tunnel is covered in graffiti and art, perfect for photos and videos.
• Centennial Olympic Park: After lunch at Krog street market take a walk through Atlanta's most notorious parks. Centennial Park, which was built for the 1996 Olympics. It has interactive water fountains and photo opportunities at the Fountain of Rings.
Evening
• SkyView Atlanta: End your night with a ride on the SkyView Ferris wheel across from Centennial Park. You’ll get an amazing view of the city skyline, and some say they can even see the entire city once you get to the top.
• Dinner at Ray’s in the City: Ray’s in the City is one of Atlanta’s most popular upscale seafood restaurants, located about four minutes away from SkyView. They offer a variety of seafood dishes as well as quality steaks.
Day 2: History, Museums, and Fun
• National Center for Civil and Human Rights: Start your morning by visiting the National Center for Civil and Human Rights. This museum honors the achievements of the leaders of the Civil Rights Movement. You’ll explore and learn about America’s civil rights history.
Afternoon
• Trap Music Museum: After exploring the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, head to the Trap Music Museum to understand a unique part of Atlanta’s history. The museum honors the art and impact of trap music with immersive exhibits, including an escape room.
• High Museum of Art: If you’re interested in classic and contemporary art, visit the High Museum. With over 17,000 pieces, it’s one of the leading art museums in the southeastern United States.
• Lunch at Westside Motor Lounge: Time for lunch! The Westside Motor Lounge, just two minutes away from the Trap Music Museum, offers a unique dining experience. It combines a restaurant, bar, and entertainment venue with games, all located in three former auto repair shops.
• Colony Square: Two minutes from the High Museum is Colony Square. It offers retail, entertainment venues, a movie theater, and various dining options. Try out Politan Row, a food hall with multiple stalls and a bar, or one of the four popular restaurants: Saints & Council, Establishment, 5Church, and Rumi’s Kitchen.
Evening
• Your 3rd Spot: Looking for something fun to do that isn’t a club for your second night in Atlanta? Try Your 3rd Spot. With over 100 games, small plates, and a bar, it offers something for everyone, though you must be 21+ after 6 PM.
• Dinner at Poor Calvin’s: End the night at Poor Calvin’s, a popular Atlanta restaurant that fuses Southern comfort food with Asian-inspired dishes. Their lobster crawfish wonton is a must-try, 10/10!
Day 3: Outdoors, Art, and Culture
Morning
• Piedmont Park: Start your last day in Atlanta at one of the city’s most famous parks. Piedmont Park offers beautiful views of Atlanta’s skyline, bike trails, outdoor activities, picnic areas, and a lake. It also hosts events throughout the year and is home to the Atlanta Botanical Garden.
• Atlanta Botanical Garden: While walking through Piedmont Park, make sure to visit the Atlanta Botanical Garden. Known for its stunning plant collections and vibrant, themed gardens, it’s a must-see. Admission starts at $23 for children ages 3-12 and $26 for adults.
Afternoon
• Lunch/Shopping at Ponce City Market: A 10-minute drive from the Atlanta Botanical Garden, Ponce City Market is a former Sears, Roebuck & Co. building transformed into a lively destination for shopping, dining, and entertainment. Don’t miss Skyline Park at the rooftop, which features vintage amusement games, drinks, and food.
• Atlanta Beltline: After exploring Ponce City Market, take a walk down the Atlanta Beltline’s Eastside Trail. This 22-mile loop of former railroad tracks has been transformed into a multi-use trail for biking, walking, and outdoor activities. Along the way, you’ll find art installations, dining, and shopping.
Evening
• Dinner at Bar of Thailand: After a day full of activities, relax with a drink and dinner at Bar of Thailand. They offer excellent Thai cuisine in a beautifully designed restaurant with great drinks.
